Garlicky Hamburger Buns

I can not explain the satisfaction of making your own bread, but I can say that the whole process is totally worth it.

I was having huge hamburger cravings, I had the meat but no buns, so decided to get on the adventure of bread making.  The result? the most perfect garlicky buns! *mouth watering emoji* And of course, as always, wanted to share the recipe with you so you don't miss the experience of making your own buns. Also this could be a great way to impress your friends and family!

The process is actually pretty simple, but you need to start early because the rising part takes time. So, I'd say start 3 hours before the time you are planning to eat. 

You will need:

2 1/2 tsp instant yeast

1 cup of warm/hot water (Touch your water with your pinky, you should be able to leave it there for 5 seconds, if you can't, it's too hot and it will kill the yeast)

3 tbsp of sugar

2 tsp salt

2 tbsp garlic powder

1 egg

3 tbsp butter

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 egg for the egg wash

Some sesame seeds

1. In a bowl add your water, yeast, 1/2 cup of flour and 1 tbsp of sugar. Combine and let it rest for 5 minutes or until it looks foamy.
2. Add then the rest of the sugar, salt, garlic powder, egg and butter. Wisk until everything is well combined
3. Add the rest of the flour and with a fork start combining everything. Use your fork until your dough start to look sticky.
4. On a clean flat surface dust some flour and start kneading your dough, add more flour if necessary as you knead until it doesn't stick to your hands or surface, but do not over flour you dough. Knead for about 10 minutes so you really activate the gluten. When done form a ball with your dough.
5. In a bowl covered with some oil, place your dough and cover with clean film, let it rest in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
6. Once your dough has doubled in size, place it on a surface slightly dusted with flour and knead for 2 minutes to get rid of bubbles. If you want your buns to be the same size you could weigh them, but something I love about everything homemade is the perfect imperfections. So, what I did was, shaped the dough in a rectangular shape (not perfect at all) and with a knife cut it in 8 pieces, that were similar in size.
7. Form a ball with each piece and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper in the position of 2-1-2-1-2, so they are a bit separated from each other, then with the palm of your hand press them down to flatten. After doing that, cover them with clean film and let it rest again for about an hour.
8. For the egg wash, using a pastry brush gently brush the surface of your buns. Be gentle you don't want to deflate them! Finally sprinkle some sesame seeds on each bun.
9. Bake at 180° C for about 15 to 17 minutes, or until they had the color you like.

No puedo explicarles lo satisfactorio que es hacer tu propio pan, pero puedo decirles que todo el proceso vale la pena.

Tenía antojo de hamburguesas, tenia la carne pero no el pan, así que decidí lanzarme a la aventura de hacer pan. ¿El resultado? ¡Los panes de hamburguesas con sabor a ajo más perfectos! Y por supuesto, como siempre, quería compartir la receta con ustedes para que no se pierdan la experiencia de hacer sus propios panes. ¡También podría ser una excelente manera de impresionar a sus amigos y familiares!

El proceso es bastante simple, pero debes comenzar temprano porque hay que dejar reposar la masa durante bastante tiempo. Yo diría que comiences 3 horas antes de la hora en que planeas comer.

Necesitarán:

2 1/2 cucharadita de levadura instantánea

1 taza de agua caliente (toca el agua con tu meñique, deberías poder dejarlo allí durante 5 segundos, si no puedes, esta muy caliente y matará la levadura)

3 cucharadas de azúcar

2 cucharaditas de sal

2 cucharadas de ajo en polvo

1 huevo

3 cucharadas de mantequilla

3 1/2 tazas de harina todo uso

1 huevo para pintar los panes.

Algunas semillas de sésamo

1.  En un tazón, agrega el agua, la levadura, 1/2 taza de harina y 1 cucharada de azúcar. Combina y dejalo reposar por 5 minutos o hasta que se vea espumoso.
2.  Agrega luego el resto del azúcar, sal, ajo en polvo, huevo y mantequilla. Mezcla todo muy bien.
3.  Agrega el resto de la harina y con un tenedor comienza a combinar todo. Usa el tenedor hasta que la masa comience a parecer pegajosa.
4.  En una superficie limpia y plana, espolvorea un poco de harina y comienza a amasar la masa, agrega más harina si es necesario a medida que amasas hasta que no se adhiera a tus manos o superficie, pero no le agregues demasiado. Amasa durante unos 10 minutos para que realmente actives el gluten. Cuando termines, forma una bola con ella.
5.  En un recipiente cubierto con un poco de aceite coloca la masa y cubre con papel film, déjela reposar en un lugar cálido durante aproximadamente 2 horas o hasta que doble su tamaño.
6.  Una vez haya duplicado su tamaño, colócala sobre una superficie ligeramente espolvoreada con harina y amásala durante 2 minutos para eliminar las burbujas. Si quieres que tus panecillos sean del mismo tamaño, podrías pesarlos, pero algo que me encanta de todo lo que es hecho en casa son esas perfectas imperfecciones. Entonces, lo que hice fue moldear la masa en forma rectangular (no perfecto en absoluto) y con un cuchillo cortarlo en 8 piezas de similar tamaño.
7.  Forma una bolita con cada pedazo y colócala en una bandeja para hornear forrada con papel encerado en la posición de 2-1-2-1-2, de manera que queden un poco separadas entre sí, luego, con la palma de la mano, presiona cada bolita para aplanarlas. Después de hacer eso, cúbrelas con papel film y déjalas reposar nuevamente durante aproximadamente una hora.
8.  Utiliza una brocha pastelera para pintar los panes con el huevo batido. Delicadamente, no quieres desinflarlos. Finalmente espolvorear semillas de sésamo en cada pan.
9.  Hornea a 180 ° C durante unos 15 a 17 minutos, o hasta que tengan el color que deseas.
